Prayer to Guide Teenage Children

Dear Father in Heaven,

In this competitive race of life, we find ourselves living in a society that tries to grab our attention every waking moment.

As a follower of Jesus, it seems there is no doubt there are negative talk about social media turning us away from God.

Some of us get lost in this process, while others get trapped – especially the young ones who are so accustomed to using them.

However, if we just take a step back to relook at our perspective, there are some merits to using social media as well.

If we just try to imagine, social media is just like a tool we use in our household.

Social media is like the hammer we use to fix our furniture – to build beautiful things,

However, if used in another way,

This same hammer can also destroy what we have built from scratch.

And this is exactly what we can share with our children, to let them know that they do hold the power to decide how they want to use it.

We can choose to allow social media to be that tool that helps us to continue creating and sharing beautiful stories about our love for God.

We can seek our intention to allow social media to influence us in ways that strengthens our bonds with the way God wants us to build our lives.

We can expose ourselves to the teachings with a soulful reminder that social media is going to help us create the connection to others and spread the word of the Lord in more ways than one.

All we need to do, is to understand that there will always be circumstances that turn us away from seeking the right path, but as long as we remain intentional about the purpose and the way of life Christ teaches us, we shall always remain strong in faith.

With your guidance, we shall find the direction to strengthen the bonds with our children, our family, and our life with God.
