There is no such thing as a problem-free life. Believing in Jesus never meant a life of ease, but He promised rest and the ability to overcome any calamity with the help of His Spirit as our guide and compass.
John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have trouble. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
God called us to endure, for the nights are dark and difficult, yet the dawn will come. This means not only that life becomes better once we get to heaven — even if it is unimaginably wonderful — yet also, He has provided everything for us to live a life of victory, freedom, and peace on earth as it is in heaven.
We will encounter problems every day that make us think God is unloving and unfair. No. He loves us greatly, and it is also the same love that longs for us to grow and mature to be more like Him — more like His Son Jesus; whom He gave unfairly for us, we might not only be redeemed from eternal damnation but also that we might live as overcomers in this life!
The hardships we face now shape us and sharpen us towards the likeness of our loving Lord and savior daily.
Psalm 13:5-6
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for He has been good to me.
Today’s Prayer:
Father, I thank Your mercies today. Though I am challenged with many hardships and struggles, Lord, I know you are near. Today, I entrust you with my life and I receive the strength to overcome and the grace to be more like You as I respond to life’s challenges. Amen.
