Our world sells convenience. It isn’t totally bad, nor is it evil; the need for instant gratification, however, does not develop the necessary faculties that help us endure thru life’s hurdles that are supposed to aid in our growth. At large, it promotes a perspective that: “I will get what I want, when I want it.”
Our distaste for due process costs us more than we care to admit. Cheating on deals, skipping lines and slander are the least of our problems on the issue of righteousness to get what we want. We sell ourselves to the concept of lesser evil or a smaller degree of sin compared to the supposedly graver sins of murder or rape. Yet, in the eyes of God, sin is sin.
Romans 2:11
For God shows no partiality
There is no gray area in God’s Kingdom, and sin doesn’t vary under culture. That is why we know that stealing is wrong in all cultures. Rape is wrong. Murder is wrong. The Bible says hating your neighbor carries the same weight as murder and fantasizing about rape is considered rape.
Be careful then, what kind of sin festers in our hearts and receive the grace today to repent and live in righteousness for the Lord sees our heart and knows our motives and will reward them accordingly.
John 17:14-16
I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
Today’s Prayer:
Father, I thank You for the hope we have in You is not weak but is beaming with promise. Help me endure in my convictions to pursue righteousness even if it’s hard sometimes that I may honor You with my Life.
