Lord Be The Shield of the Innocents
Today as we nestle into the comforts of our homes, many miles away, lives are being disrupted by the very calamities of war. Through the most unfortunate of circumstances, these poor innocent lives have been engulfed by the horrors and brutality of war.
As they cry out in solace, waiting for help and hanging on to a thin thread of hope, we too join in solidarity by offering our prayers and strength for them. Let us interceded in the name of the Lord to shield and deliver the innocents. In this connected world, the echoes of their pain and hope reach our souls, compelling us to reflect upon our role, our duty, and the beauty of solidarity. To be one with them, if not in physicality, then in spirit.
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” (Psalm 9:9)
It is in desperate times like this when the power of prayer is all the more important. For when we gather together in the Lord’s name and seek His listening ear, miracles can happen. It is more than mere words, but a powerful offering of solidarity with the victims – those whose lives should never have been touched by the cruel actions that we witness right now on the media.
“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” (Psalm 91:4)
Let us then, hand in hand, heart with heart, weave a world where no innocent soul feels the chill of war, where every life is sheltered, shielded, and delivered from despair.
Lord, we offer our prayers and actions in solidarity with the innocent victims of war. May Your love and protection encompass them, delivering them from their tribulations.
