YOUR DAILY PRAYER & BLESSINGS

St. Bonaventure Prayer – A Soul That Hungers for God’s Endless Love

Let Us Pray

O glorious St. Bonaventure, doctor and patron of all who seek wisdom and knowledge in God,
We come before you today with humble hearts,
yearning for the gift that surpasses all others—the hunger for God Himself.
You who lived a life dedicated to the pursuit of divine truth,
whose heart burned with a longing to know, love, and serve the Lord,
intercede for us now in our time of need. 🙏

Grant us we pray, a soul that hungers after God in all things.
Let our hearts thirst for His presence as the deer pants for streams of water,
and may we seek His face with relentless devotion.
O St. Bonaventure, help us to strip away the distractions of this world that so often lead us away from the true and only sustenance we need: the love of God.
May we realize that all worldly pursuits pale in comparison to the joy of knowing Him and being known by Him.

We ask for your powerful intercession in igniting within us a fire that can only be quenched by the presence of the Almighty.
Help us to look past the fleeting pleasures of this life and recognize that our deepest desire is for God,
even when we do not yet fully understand it.
Teach us as you yourself once sought to teach others, that only in God can our souls find true rest.
Let the yearning of our hearts be for His love, His mercy and His grace, which alone can satisfy the deep hunger within.

St. Bonaventure, guide our thoughts and actions that they may align with this holy hunger.
When we are tempted to seek fulfillment in earthly comforts, remind us gently that these things will never satisfy our souls.
When we fall into the trap of thinking that success, power, or material possessions will bring us happiness,
help us to see them for what they truly are—temporary distractions from our ultimate purpose of seeking and glorifying God.

We long for a faith that is not passive, but ACTIVE.
A faith that propels us forward in our relationship with God,
A faith that hungers for His Word, His guidance, and His eternal presence.
O Holy Saint, we ask for your intercession to help us cultivate this hunger in our daily lives.
May we find ourselves drawn to the Scriptures, to prayer, and to the sacraments as a means of nourishing our souls.
May we feel an ever-deepening need for the Eucharist which alone can satisfy the hunger for divine communion that burns within us.

St. Bonaventure, we seek your help in nurturing a deeper awareness of God’s love.
May we grow in the understanding that His love is not just an abstract concept,
but a living, breathing reality that surrounds us in every moment.
Help us to see God’s love in the beauty of creation, in the kindness of others and in the quiet moments of prayer.
Let our hearts be drawn toward Him with increasing intensity with each passing day.

We ask for your prayers, O great saint, that our hearts may be cleansed of all that keeps us from God.
Remove the barriers of pride, selfishness, and sin that dull our spiritual appetite.
Make us humble and receptive to the love that God so freely offers.
May we come to understand that His love is the only true nourishment for our souls and that nothing else can ever take its place.

We ask also for your intercession in moments of doubt or spiritual dryness.
When we feel distant from God or when our hunger for Him seems faint, strengthen us with your prayers.
Remind us that this hunger is a gift and that even in moments of spiritual desolation, God is drawing us closer to Himself.
Help us to remain steadfast in our search for Him, trusting that He will always meet us in our need.

Finally, we pray that through your powerful intercession,
we may come to experience the fullness of God’s love in our lives.
May our hunger for Him grow stronger each day until it becomes an unquenchable flame that leads us ever closer to His heart.
Let our souls be nourished by His love, that we may in turn become vessels of His love to those around us.

St. Bonaventure, pray for us that we may always hunger for God above all things, and that our souls may be forever satisfied by His presence. Amen.🙏
