TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

St. Martin de Porres – Do Not Dwell On Unfair Circumstances. For You Shall Receive Fair & Favorable Treatment In God’s Justice.

“Why has life been so unfair to me? Why is it that others seem to have success come so easily to them and here I am struggling so hard all of the time? Can’t I just receive fair treatment and compensation for all of my hard work?”

Have you sometimes found yourself questioning the unfairness of life and having your faith tested?

As the humble servant of God, I understand all too well the many struggles we face in the course of our humanity. It is natural for you to question why certain trials and tribulations are coming your way, and wonder if your rights and benefits as children of God are being disregarded.

My beloved child, It can be difficult to trust God in uncertain times, but as believers we know that He will ultimately work all things for good. For as the words of 2 Corinthians 5:7 put it, “we walk by faith and not by sight.”

Comparison is the thief of joy, and robs us of our emotional satisfaction. It is only through humility that we can truly see the bigger picture and understand that our rights and benefits as believers are not determined by the standards of this world, but by the eternal love and grace of our Lord.

As a child of God, you are called to treat others with love, respect, and fairness. This means recognizing the inherent value and dignity of every person, regardless of their background or circumstances. Fair treatment is essential for building strong, healthy relationships and for fostering a sense of community and unity.

Equal Treatment May Not Be The Best Compensation

When we compare ourselves with others and seek “equal treatment” or merits, these rewards are merely our perception of what we think is good for us. Consider this, it may not necessarily be a good thing even if we were to receive all those luxuries and more. For God already has a solid plan in place for your eternal future, and not just the comforts of this world.

I urge you to let go of your earthly desires for fair treatment and compensation, and instead put your trust in God’s plan for your life. He sees the bigger picture and will use even the most difficult circumstances for your ultimate good and His glory.

As followers of Christ, we are called to love and serve others, not to demand our own rights and benefits. In Matthew 20:28, Jesus teaches us that “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

It can be difficult to always be fair, especially when you are facing your own challenges or struggles. But as a believer in Christ, you are called to a higher standard. Strive to be just and fair in all your interactions with others, remembering that you are called to love your neighbors as yourself.

The Responsibility of Giving Fair Treatment

It is through this selfless mindset and servant heart that we can truly receive the blessings and compensation that God has in store for us, not through our own demands or comparisons with others.

In addition to advocating for your own rights, it is also your responsibility as a believer to ensure that you are treating others fairly. This means being mindful of the ways in which your actions and words may impact others, and making sure that you are not taking advantage of or mistreating those around you. It is important that you strive to be just and fair in all your dealings with others.

Whether it is in your personal relationships, your workplaces, or your interactions with the wider community, make an effort to be considerate of others and to ensure that you are not causing harm or injustice.

Trusting in God’s Justice

Ultimately, your trust and hope must be in God, who is the ultimate judge and the source of all justice. When you are faced with unfair treatment or injustice, you can turn to him in prayer and trust that he is working all things together for your good. Let you hold fast to this truth and let it guide your actions as you seek to live out his call to love and serve others.

So, my dear friends, let us set aside our demands for equal treatment, and instead trust in the Lord’s plan for our lives, putting our faith in His love and grace. Through humility and a servant’s heart, we will receive the blessings and compensation that God has in store for us.

Lean on him and trust in him, knowing that he is with you always and that he will never forsake you. He is the source of all hope and peace, and he will guide you through every situation and circumstance. Trust in him, and let his love and grace sustain you.

Let Us Pray

"Dear Saint Martin de Porres, I pray that you would intercede for me before the throne of God, asking for the grace and strength to be fair and just in all my dealings with others. Help me to recognize the inherent value and dignity of every person, and to treat them with love, respect, and fairness. And as I seek to be a channel of your love and justice in the world, I pray that you would also protect me from mistreatment and injustice, and guide me to always seek your will and your ways."

St. Martin de Porres, Pray for Us!
