TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

St. Scholastica – The Importance Of Pursuing A Degree In Christ

As a guide in the pursuit of spiritual wisdom and learning, today’s message is regarding the importance of education and learning in our walk with Christ.

To be one of God’s chosen is to make a lifelong commitment to learning and growing in your faith. It is a journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth that requires dedication, patience, and humility.

The Pursuit of Knowledge, the Quest for Truth

As you embark on this journey, know that the Lord has a plan for your life. He wants you to be well-educated and knowledgeable, for this is the path to success and fulfillment. By pursuing a degree in Christ, you are actively choosing to grow in your faith, to deepen your understanding of God’s word, and to become a better version of yourself.

It is also an important way to be equipped with the knowledge and understanding needed to share the gospel with others, and to be a light in the world. It is a way to be better equipped to serve God, your family, and the people around you. It is a way to be a better follower of Jesus Christ.

Pursue knowledge with eagerness and joy, for in doing so, you are professing your faith and drawing closer to the Lord.

The Wisdom of God Is The Light of Understanding

Learning and education are not just about acquiring knowledge and skills, but also about gaining wisdom and understanding. The Lord desires that you grow in wisdom, that you might be able to make wise decisions and live a life that is pleasing to Him.

Many people see Christians as “uneducated” and “blindly” choosing to follow God because of tradition or circumstance. Yet this could be further from the truth. God does not instruct us to abandon wisdom or logic, in fact it is our duty to acquire wisdom that we may serve as better custodians of his love.

“Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.”

– Proverbs 4:5

Most of the Christ’s apostles started out from humble beginnings, as fisherman, carpenters & commoners with not much education to begin with. Yet it was their fervent desire to pursue the truth and to spread God’s message of love that allowed them evolve with wisdom and understanding. Anyone who has read the Gospels would know that they those are not the words of simple or “uneducated” men.

Knowledge is important, but the wisdom that flows from God is the thread that allows us to apply knowledge into our lives, and to put it to work for good. It is the ability to see things from God’s perspective and make decisions that are in line with His will. Seek wisdom in your pursuit of a degree in Christ and allow it to guide your actions and decisions.

A Foundation of Knowledge Built On The Teachings of Christ

Dear friends, education is not just about getting good grades or pursuing a successful career. It is about building a foundation for your life, a foundation that is grounded in Christ. Just as a house built on rock will withstand the storms of life, so too will a life built on Christ endure and flourish.

Education in faith is invaluable. It is through your knowledge and understanding of God’s word that you are able to live a life that is pleasing to Him. It allows you to make informed decisions and to better serve Him and others.

Do Not Be Misled By Fake News & False Teachings

“The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.”

– Proverbs 14:8

Technological advancements work as a double-edged sword. We live in a time with such ease of access to information, and yet at the same time are also bombarded with misinformation from multiple sources.

Do not be misled by the worldly wisdom that is often presented to you. Seek the wisdom of God, for it is true wisdom and will lead you to a life that is fulfilling and abundant. The Lord desires that you be filled with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, so that you may use your gifts to serve Him and others.

The Lord desires that you not only learn about Him, but also that you encounter Him in a personal and meaningful way. Immerse yourself in His word, for it is alive and active. It has the power to transform your life and fill you with wisdom and understanding.

Let Us Pray

"Dear Lord, I pray that I will your divine plan for my education, learning and continued growth. May I always seek wisdom and knowledge with eagerness and joy, and may I encounter the Lord in a personal and meaningful way through His word. Help me to build a foundation for my life that is grounded in Christ, and may I use your gifts to serve your kingdom and others. I trust in Your provision and guidance as I embark on this journey of a lifetime. Help me to constantly grow and deepen my relationship with You."

Saint Scholastica, pray for us. Amen 🙏
