TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

St. Ignatius – Be Prepared for Change Is Coming

My dear child, I bring tidings of mixed emotions for I know the time of great change is upon us. It can be confusing for many struggling to make sense of a world that’s progressing so quickly. Whether or not you believe that changes are a good or bad thing for you, it is almost inevitable that we will be met with new & surprising circumstances in the future.

I want to assure you of God’s guidance and support during times of change in your life. The Lord’s wisdom and love are always with you, even when facing the unknown or navigating new circumstances. Trust in His divine plan and embrace the journey ahead.

For though we may not have control over the unexpected events, we can control our perspective and how we react to it.

Dealing with the Concept of Change

Change is an unavoidable aspect of life, and our faith journey is no exception. As you grow and mature in your relationship with God, you will inevitably encounter moments of transition and transformation. During a time of change, it can feel like a long way from change to acceptance.

We may get stuck in the struggle of waiting while our spirits beg for the dust of our transition to settle. But God is in the changes in your life and has made sure that everything is just right. These moments may be challenging, but they also provide opportunities for growth and deepening your connection with the Lord.

Remember that our Heavenly Father is the unchanging rock which we can always rely on (Hebrews 13:8). No matter how much our lives may shift, God’s love and presence remain constant. Lean on Him during times of change and trust in His unwavering support.

God looks at change differently than the rest of the world does, and He wants us to see it the same way He does. If we see everything from God’s point of view, we will automatically start to think more positively about change.

Discerning God’s Will in Times of Change

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

– Romans 12:1-2

Many may believe Christians to be old-fashioned, traditional and ill-equipped for changes in the world because of “rigid” thinking. The truth is that whilst we hold on to God’s unchanging love and the enduring principles that He has taught us that have withstood the test of time, the bible does in fact emphasis the importance of constant renewal and upgrading of the mind.

God does not tell us that we must be stuck in the old ways and reject scientific and technological advancements of the world. Our heavenly father tells us to embrace renewal but yet not to conform to the pattern of the world.

It is critical to seek God’s will and direction for your life during times of change. You can navigate these transitions with grace and wisdom if you use prayerful discernment, which will also help you make decisions that are in line with God’s will for you.

Adapting to New Circumstances

As you navigate the changes in your life, it is essential to remain open and flexible, adapting to new situations and challenges. Recognize that God may be using these changes to shape and refine you, drawing you closer to Him and preparing you for future opportunities.

Be willing to let go of old habits or ways of thinking that no longer serve you, and embrace the growth and learning that change can bring. Trust that God is with you every step of the way, providing the guidance and support you need to thrive.

Even if your challenges seem huge, you can be sure that they will get smaller and smaller until they are solved completely if you trust God to help you get through it. God is much bigger than anything you’ll ever have to deal with.

So instead of looking at the challenges as hindrance or in despair, look at God, who is ready to help you get past them. When you think about how powerful God is, you’ll be able to see your problem in the right way and feel confident that, with God’s help, you can solve it.

Let Us Pray

Lord, in times of change, I trust in Your divine guidance and loving presence. Help me to be open and adaptable, embracing the opportunities for growth that change can bring. Fill me with Your peace and wisdom as I discern Your will for my life. I ask for Your grace to support and encourage others facing change.

In The Name Of God The Father, The Son And The Holy Spirit, Amen. 🙏
